My Week in Head Bands.

I decided to do a pictorial post after my salon visit. The curls remained in tact for more than a week. Since I have lots of head bands, I thought, ‘why not?’

Tuesday.
This is when I returned to work and went to get my hair done. I talked about here and what went on during my salon visit.
Floral embellished Head Band.

Wednesday
Talk about clashing, right? I wore the purple floral embellished head band with a red and black checked shirt dress! It occurred to me when I wore the shirt dress that only I can wear it and get away without tights or leggings. It is a shirt on my sister but on me, It is a Dress!! LOL! I am petite stature-wise and it stopped right below my knees.

Purple floral embellished head band. This has a wider flower and slim band.

Thursday.
I decided to wear with plain blue headband with a ruffled collar dress. I can't describe the color properly so I won't even attempt it. The band and the dress color had nothing in common.

Slim plain blue headband.

Friday.
I went for the Rockstar Chic look. Purple top with lots of colorful stones, black jeans and my black cropped sleeve jacket. The head band was slim and had a blue bow on it. Seriously, The bow matched some of the blue stones in my shirt. When you dress like a RockStarr, you definitely feel like one.
On the left, I am with my jacket on and without it on the right. I tried on my aunt's glasses to see if I can carry off the Geek-chic look.

Blue bow embellished slim black headband.

Monday.
I went for a black skirt, yellow vest and my green short jacket with the gray headband. As you can see, it has glitter.

Sparkly gray wide headband.

Tuesday.
My final day of wearing Head Bands. I was tired of having the same hairstyle for almost two weeks. I couldn't be anymore glad. Much as I love headbands and all my hair accessories, having my hair pulled back or going backwards is not my style. My signature hairstyle is a side swept bang/fringe. I went with this Black Sparkly headband because I had on a black skirt, pink tank top and black and white checkered short sleeved jacket.

Sparkly Black Head Band.

PS: No pictures for the weekend because I hardly dress up, some times but not most of the time. The weekend is simply for me to be as unkempt as I can possibly be. The cute town belle look is for work and some odd weekends when I do stuff with friends.

There goes my week in Head bands.

Bye To Cute Village Belle...

I decided to return to work after a few days within feeling better. It was hardly my decision to make as my mum kept on asking whether I was going to work the following day for a few consecutive days. So I did and the first thing on the agenda was getting my hair done cause I had taken out the weave, washed plus treatment. Being home turns one into a proper village belle.

Cute Village Belle.
I make a cute village belle with my glad rags on but, really, it shows a lack of seriousness and respect for the job when you take the cute village belle too far at work. I visited the salon round where I work and as the lady went through the motions of relaxing my hair, I paid no attention until the setting stage.
She combed my hair rather slicked it back, tied a thread running behind my ears which made me wonder if this was a new trend in the hair business. I didn’t bother to ask. I usually let these ladies do as they please with my hair long as I have the time. As she proceeded to put my hair in curlers, I noticed its length. It is almost the length it was before I cut into a Dianna Agron inspired bob (my version of it). I want to maintain short hair thus the not so subtle increase in length is not pleasant though I let it be. Hair is really like grass, however much you cut it it always grows back unless you have poor quality hair or you are at the stage where hair growth is no longer possible.
After the setting and hair dryer sessions, it finally dawned on me that the thread was to mark where I was going to place my headband seeing as I had gone into the salon with one adorning my hair. She removed the curlers, used a wide toothed comb to organise the curls a little and later asked me to wear my hairband. I have to say that I was impressed. Yes! No more cute village belle, cute city belle has taken over.

Cute City Belle.
Ps: I am going to wear different headbands until the curly hair wears out. I might do a pictorial post cause I have a not so small collection of hairbands.

…It hurts to dream…

I had the most candid of conversations this past week with one of my sisters. The kind where you let your heart speak for itself without interruptions from logic-for once. It got me tearing up a few times cause of what it meant (I am the sort people come to not the type that seeks others) and made me wonder if she felt it since we were Instant Messaging. This might strike you as strange but whenever I am chatting via Instant Message, I always wonder if the other party is able to detect my mood from the replies or tone?
To get back to the subject…This conversation was about dreams…I don’t want to elaborate on it so this quote will say it all. ‘As much as it is good to dream. Sometimes, it HURTS to dream.’

Aside from that…One of my good friends gave me his cross-body bag because I liked it. I love! Love! friends like these. He neither hesitated nor grumbled about it except he made a promise to leave it to me when he leaves the country. I like it because it was a little large and roomy enough to hold my mini laptop along with some of my ‘can’t do without’ junk. As I write this post, the bag is in my possession!

…I have been ill for a while but getting better, Thankfully. I feel it. When I am sick, I miss looking cute and being the ‘exotic flower’ as my mum calls me. It is one of the first things I think about when I am coherent enough to make sense of my thoughts…pretty girl problems!

Lots of love to all of my friends who take time out to come visit, text and post on my facebook wall simply to check on me. I love each and everyone of you.

The Differences Between Girls and Women.

Girls leave their schedule wide-open and wait for a guy to call and make plans.
Grown women make their own plans and nicely tell the guy to get in where he fits.

Girls want to control the man in their life.
Grown women know that if he's truly hers, he doesn't need controlling.

Girls check you for not calling them.
Grown women are too busy to realize you hadn't.

Girls are afraid to be alone.
Grown women revel in it-using it as a time for personal growth.

Girls ignore the good guys.
Grown women ignore the bad guys.

Girls make you come home.
Grown women make you want to come home.

Girls worry about not being pretty and/or good enough for their man.
Grown women know that they are pretty and/or good enough for any man.

Girls try to monopolize all their man's time (i.e., don't want him hanging with his friends).
Grown women realize that a lil' bit of space makes the 'together time' even more special-and goes to kick it with her own friends.

Girls think a guy crying is weak.
Grown women offer their shoulder and a tissue.

Girls want to be spoiled and 'tell' their man so.
Grown women 'show' him and make him comfortable enough to reciprocate without fear of losing his 'manhood'.

Girls get hurt by one man and make all men pay for it.
Grown women know that that was just one man.

Girls fall in love and chase aimlessly after the object of their affection, ignoring all 'signs'.
Grown women know that sometimes the one you love, don't always love you back-and move on, without bitterness.

Girls rush to trap men with babies.
Grown women take time and have babies only if they are sure that the man is of great values.

Girls will read this and get an attitude.
Grown women will read this and pass it on to other Grown women and their male friends.

Ps: I am not a huge fan of Beyonce but she is among the few who have put a ring on it before having babies and she and Jigga dated for quite a few years before settling.
One of my friends posted this on Facebook and I loved it enough to jack it from her page. Hope y'all like it.
